Vancouver International Airport (IATA: YVR, ICAO: CYVR) is located on Sea Island in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, about 12 km (7.5 mi) from Downtown Vancouver. In 2016 it was the second busiest airport in Canada by aircraft movements (306,799) and passengers (22.3 million). Due to its proximity to Asia in relation to the rest of Canada, YVR is the major gateway between Canada and Asia. It has more transpacific flights than any other airport in Canada.
Vancouver International Airport has three passenger terminals: The International & the Domestic Terminals are connected. The domestic terminal, consists of gates A1-10 & B11-24, or to C25-52. Level 4 has an observation area. The international terminal has departure gates D50-78 while the transborder flights operate out of gates E67-99.
