Keflavík Overload
The Icelandic controllers would like to welcome all pilots for a fun evening of flying in Keflavík (BIKF) on 1 October starting at 16z.
Take your favorite aircraft for a spin into or out from the beautiful and breathtaking nature of Iceland, it doesn't matter if it's VFR or IFR!
We recommend to read the pilot briefing and also to have the Icelandic charts with you to make your flight go smooth.
The controllers in Vatsim-Scandinavia hope to see you online in Icelandic airspace on 1 October 16-20z.

60 Hours of ATC
We will be staffing Boston Center for 60 Hours from 11am (1500z) on Friday, October 13 to 11pm ET (0300z) on Sunday, October 15. Any time you want to fly within that 60 hour period, day or night, you’ll find ATC coverage online!
In addition to the continuous ATC coverage, we have two major events during this time period. We’ll be featured in VATUSA's Friday Night Operations event on October 13. From 7-11pm ET on Friday, October 13, the Boston ARTCC will be staffed to the hilt for our Fall FNO. Beyond FNO, we were chosen as a departure field for Cross the Pond Eastbound 2017, which takes place throughout the day on October 14th. More information regarding Cross the Pond can be read here or on the Cross the Pond website.
Whether you want to fly a big bird out of Boston, cruise around the Cape in your Cub, or just practice a few patterns at Portland, we'll be staffed up all weekend! Additional ATC will be available throughout the weekend at a variety of airports, including during the event times. As the 60 Hours of ATC weekend approaches, our ATC Timetable will be updated to show additional airports that will be staffed.

Real Operating Hours - Geneva
Have you ever…
… dreamed of ATC all day long?
… wished to have controllers guiding you on early morning approaches while the sun is rising?
… wanted to fly a four leg rotation with guaranteed service on your departure and arrival?
… hoped to get a whole day of ATC as real as it gets?
We make it happen again! After the successful launch in 2016, it's now time again to offer you Real Operating Hours. We will staff Geneva (LSGG) on 29th October 2017 from 0500-2330z.
Complete your walk around in the dawn to be ready for a number of inter-europe rotations. Welcome your passengers on board and complete the boarding on time in order to not fall behind schedule on the very first leg. Enjoy the unusual long ILS approach for runway 23 over the Lake Geneva or vectors over mountainous terrain for runway 05, depending on the wind situation. As fog/mist is not unusual in the early morning hours at this time of the year, you might expect low visibility at ground levels. Even holdings might be assigned.
After the first wave of IFR traffic has quieten down, it's time for the small VFR aircraft to start their Sunday trip. The Valais and Vaud Alps are waiting for you just at the other end of Lake Geneva. And if you can't stop admiring the beautiful mountainous Swiss landscape, make a stop for example at Gruyère, Lausanne, Sion or Saanen-Gstaad for a coffee or lunch. Also helicopter trips are recommendable in this region. On the way back, take a look at Castle Chillon near Montreux and follow the vineyards back towards Geneva.
Enjoy a continous staffing on different positions and experience the Real Operating atmosphere. We look forward to you to liven the airport up on 29th October 2017 from 0500-2330z!
